About Me

Hi, I'm Vikram Kumar — most people know me as Vik — welcome to VikEPMLab.

I work as an Oracle EPM Architect, specializing in full-platform Oracle EPM Cloud implementations and integrations across AWS, Azure, and OCI. I also work extensively with legacy on-prem Hyperion systems — migrations, coexistence strategies, and everything in between as organizations move from Hyperion to EPM Cloud.

This blog is where I document what I actually build and learn on the job: the automation scripts that save hours of manual work, the data integration patterns that hold up in production, the Groovy rules and substitution variables that keep pipelines running smoothly, and the occasional "here's what Oracle should really fix" rant.

What you'll find here:

  • Oracle EPM Cloud & Hyperion — deep dives into Oracle EPM Essbase, Planning, BSO/ASO cubes, Data Integration, Groovy scripting, and legacy Hyperion architecture
  • Automation — EPMAutomate scripts, scheduled pipelines, and workflow tooling that actually works
  • Multi-Cloud & ERP Integrations — bridging EPM with AWS, Azure, OCI, other ERP systems, and platforms like GCS, BigQuery, SAP, Oracle ERP, Workday
  • Case Studies — real business problems and how I approached solving them
  • Opinion & Ideas — improvement suggestions, lessons learned, and things I wish someone had told me earlier

I'm not writing polished tutorials for beginners — this is more like a working notebook for fellow EPM and Hyperion practitioners who are knee-deep in the same kind of problems I am. If you're building, automating, migrating from Hyperion, or troubleshooting anything in the Oracle EPM Cloud space, I hope something here saves you time.
